String Theory EP
Residing in San Francisco, Mancunian ex-pat Jon Gillham marks his first release with an EP of impeccably produced tech-house.
Growing up as part of the legendary late 80s Manchester music scene, Jon brings years of experience in the studio along with a deep understanding of classic sounds. The title cut – String Theory is an elegant, slow burner perfect for 5am sets. Followed by The Code – a driving and moody techno-infused track built around a hauntingly familiar chord and melody. Also included in the release is Tracer – Jon’s well received 2010 release, now back in print.
String Theory – The Remixes
Label head Audioelectronic drops a dark, slowed down disco percolation with a deep 80s bass and some funky percussion elements. Darin Marshall brings a steady, driving groove perfect for building up a dj set. Sweeping analog strings and a synth-pop snare bring a decidedly retro element to this modern production. SubSensory Recordings label head Jack Coleman drops a techy banger with filtered noise and a rounded, rubbery bass.
